Heartland Shiraz 2009
Made by Ben Glaetzer with fruit sourced from Langhorne Creek and the Limestone Coast.
Here’s what you get; vibrant purple hues with a deep ruby red core. The nose has masses of black fruits, red currants and spice which support hints of espresso and dried herbs.
The palate although a change from Ben’s big robust reds, is savoury, rich and restrained which shows very good balance and a strong length to finish with.
Just another Ben Glaetzer classic!

Pizzini Sangiovese Shiraz 2009
One of the big success stories of last Saturday’s Big Red tasting day.
All the fruit for this wine comes from the King Valley region. The nose exudes red berries, dried herbs, and dusty spice. Aromatics of savoury plums and cherries give this wine a youthful juicy lift.
The palate is fresh and lush and has lovely chalky tannins and a gentle yet lingering finish.
A wine most suited to our temperature and will go beautifully with all pasta dishes and BBQs.

Main Divide Sauvignon Blanc 2009
A very interesting white wine from the Pegasus Bay stable of fine wines.
This wine is like a bowl of ripe fruits on a bed of freshly picked herbs. The bouquet and flavour suggest passionfruit, melon, gooseberries and citrus fruits.
These are underlain with a hint of crushed thyme and mint and supported by a whiff of gun-flint complexity.
While generously mouth-filling, it has a spine of tangy minerality and grapefruit acidity, keeping it lively and fresh while drawing out its length.

The nose shows aromas of lemon and grapefruit combined with richness of firm fleshy fruits such as white peaches, apricots and tart apples, bringing freshness and liveliness to this Champagne.
The taste is stunning! The bubbles are rich on the palate but never overpowering the mix of fresh fruit and delicate caramel aromas give even more intensity to the finish. This is a subtly balanced wine with a remarkable capacity to linger in the mouth.
